Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in a rain-affected IPL Eliminator by seven wickets via Duckworth Lewis System to enter the Qualifier 2 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. KKR finally took revenge since last time it was Hydeabad who beat them in the eliminator. Lengthy rain delay kept both the teams waiting for close to 2.5 hours after SRH were restricted to 128/7.When the match finally resumed, as per the D/L method, KKR were left to chase a revised target of 48 in six overs which they achieved at the cost of three wickets in 5.2 overs.

Glad on the winning side tonite. But play offs need to have an extra day in case of an abandoned match. Ami KKR onwards with @GautamGambhir

Earlier, in a rare instance, Hyderabad batsman faltered and could manage a meager 128 in this crucial encounter. David Warner who was the top scorer, could also manage to score only 37. Nathan Coulter Nile was the pick of the bowlers for KKR and had three important wickets to his name.
When KKR came out bat chasing 48 runs in six overs, it looked as if it would be a cake walk. But that was not to be the case. They lost in form Chris Lynn and Yusuf Pathan in successive deliveries and were on backfoot. But captain Gautam Gambhir showed his class when it mattered the most. He guided the side to victory with four balls to spare.
