Not shifting base to Assam: ONGC

AGARTALA: Refuting recent media reports about the shifting of ONGC base office from Tripura to Assam , the Tripura Asset of the oil and gas exploration giant on Wednesday said moving its Forward Base office is not on the cards. It now supplies 45 lakh cubic metres gas per day. "ONGC is currently deploying three drilling rigs exclusively for exploration drilling operations in the eastern part of the state i.e. Additionally, a work station has already been established in Agartala," ONGC Tripura chief SC Soni said.ONGC's production has more than doubled between 2012-13 and 2016-17 - going from 6,450 lakh cubic metres to 13,820 cubic metres. On the contrary, it said, it is being planned that activities in the state will be expanded.
