Candidates spend time with party workers

In Phaphamau constituency, Ansar Ahmad of Samajwadi Party held meetings with his supporters. At home, he held a meeting of party workers to discuss various aspects of voting. ALLAHABAD: After spending weeks with the public, campaigning for themselves, contestants dedicated their last 24 hours to party workers and held meetings with them.For Bahujan Samaj Party candidate from Allahabad West, Puja Pal, the day started with a closed-door meeting with her election manager and party workers. His wife, mayor Abhilasha Gupta, was busy meeting women workers. Similarly, Congress candidate from Allahabad North Anugrah Narayan Singh discussed poll agents to be deployed in and outside the polling booths.

ALLAHABAD: After spending weeks with the public, campaigning for themselves, contestants dedicated their last 24 hours to party workers and held meetings with them.For Bahujan Samaj Party candidate from Allahabad West, Puja Pal, the day started with a closed-door meeting with her election manager and party workers. In the meeting, suggestions were invited from them over the feedback received after a month of hectic campaigning schedule. Her rival, BJP candidate from the same seat, Siddharthnath Singh, started closed-door meetings early in the morning. He was busy receiving traders' association heads and intellectuals in his constituency, who, his election-manager said, were shubhchintak (well wishers).Singh said, "After discussions, I have constituted 15 teams of workers for booth management." SP candidate Parvez Ahmad Tanki spent the day with his family and party leaders. Similarly, Congress candidate from Allahabad North Anugrah Narayan Singh discussed poll agents to be deployed in and outside the polling booths. Anugrah also held personal meetings with academicians.He told TOI, "After Rahul-Akhilesh roadshow on Tuesday, more people wanted to meet me personally and I had been busy meeting every group at home." BJP's Harshvardhan Bajpai met with office-bearers of traders' organisations. He was assisted by his mother Ranjan Bajpai. BSP candidate Amit Srivastava too was busy holding meetings at his office and later at home with party workers.Similarly, BJP candidate from Allahabad south, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, held meetings at different places. At home, he held a meeting of party workers to discuss various aspects of voting. His wife, mayor Abhilasha Gupta, was busy meeting women workers."It was yet another hectic day of meetings and redrawing strategy for Thursday," Abhilasha. In Phaphamau constituency, Ansar Ahmad of Samajwadi Party held meetings with his supporters. "There is a need to make the rural population aware about the EVM machines as many of them will be voting for first time so our workers are holding meetings with them," said Ahmad.BJP candidate Vikramajeet Maurya and BSP's Manoj Pandey too claimed that in remote areas people need to be make aware of the EVM machines among the villagers.
