Amritsar, March 27 Former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, accompanied by his wife and Union Minister for Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, paid obeisance at Golden Temple today. Addressing mediapersons, Badal said Captain Amarinder-led Congress government needs to focus on fulfilling promises it had made to voters. “I am eagerly waiting to see if the Captain government is capable to deliver better than what Badal Sahib (former CM Parkash Singh Badal) did in his tenure. Captain should not forget that action speaks louder than words,” he said. Meanwhile, launching a scathing attack on the Congress’ ‘Karza Kurki campaign’ for farmers, Harsimrat said Captain was seeking assistance of PM Narendra Modi to fulfil promises he made to the people of Punjab. Prior to elections, the Congress had assured to waive off farmers’ debt and one government job for each household, but both these issues were never on the agenda of the first meeting of the Cabinet. “Now he is appealing to PM Narendra Modi to help him out,” she said. She said the CM had vowed to eradicate drug abuse in Punjab within four weeks. “Ten days have already passed and only 20 remain. It appears to be false propaganda,” she added. — TNS
