City reports four dowry harassment cases in a day

Aurangabad: The city police registered four separate cases of dowry demand on Tuesday night, with some women alleging that they were being harassed and even deprived of food since 2014.Rani Vikas Khajekar (23) has named her seven in-laws, including four women, in her complaint. The in-laws would often deny her food, she said.The Harsul police have registered a case against the seven under different sections, including harassment for dowry.The Waluj MIDC police have registered two cases. When she failed to bring cash, they drove her out of home, she said.The cantonment police registered an offence against 15 people, including seven women,.for demanding money from Rina Sumit Pawar (25) since July 2017. She accused them of harassing her for dowry of Rs 2 lakh since October 2014 in Badnapur of Jalna district.Khajekar, who has been staying with her parents since September last year, alleged that the in-laws also suspected her fidelity while blaming her for not bearing a child. Kanchan Kiran Jagdale (25) of Sundar Colony, Jogeshwari, currently staying with her relatives in Ranjangaon Shenpunji, has alleged that she was being harassed by her husband and his six relatives for Rs 5 lakh.Jagdale's in-laws, including three women, have been allegedly harassing her since she got married in July 2014 asking her to bring money from her parents to buy an autorickshaw, police said.

When she failed to bring cash, they drove her out of home, she said.The cantonment police registered an offence against 15 people, including seven women,.for demanding money from Rina Sumit Pawar (25) since July 2017.
