Youth held for sharing CM's morphed pic on WhatsApp

BAREILLY: Police here arrested a youth for allegedly sharing a morphed picture of state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on WhatsApp. The accused, Salman Ansari, runs a gym in Faridpur area in the city and the photograph was shared on a WhatsApp group of the gym members. We have also received a photocopy of the picture that was shared on WhatsApp," said Yamuna Prasad, superintendent of police (SP), rural. "The youth has been arrested. The matter came to light after one of the group members, Akash Shukla, along with members of the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), filed a complaint in the Faridpur police station.An FIR was registered under section 66A (sending offensive messages) of the Information Technology Act, sections 295 (A) (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion) and 505 (2) (whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement, rumour or report with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public) of the IPC.
