Minor girl forcibly married, raped for months

PATIALA: The police have booked a man under sections of IPC and POCSO Act for allegedly marrying and then raping a 16-year-old minor girl. The complainant is a minor girl and had recorded her statement with the police. The police said that the accused had married the girl in October last year.The police revealed that minor girl, who hails from Patiala , was forcibly married by her maternal grandparents on October 12, 2018.The police said that the accused is identified as Rinku and hails from Ambala in Haryana . They also claimed that they have no information about the girl's parents.Tripuri station house officer said, "We received the complainant from our authorities at Chandigarh following which we had registered the case. According to her she was forced to marry the accused.She alleged she was being tortured and raped by the accused since October 2018 when she was forcibly married.The police have booked the accused under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code, Section 6 POCSO Act, and section 9 of the Children Marriage Prohibition Act 2006.
