Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has been allotted an advanced life support (ALS) ambulance which will be used exclusively for VVIP duty. The ALS ambulance designed by GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute was handed over to CMCH on Wednesday. Due to lack of ALS ambulance, those belonging to private hospitals were being used during VVIP visits in Coimbatore. The ALS ambulance will be used for the first time during the scheduled visit of Prime Minister on Friday. The ALS ambulance has emergency life-saving equipment including ventilator, multi-para monitor, and defibrillator in addition to facilities available in 108 ambulances.
