Four of family killed in accident

The car that collided with a tractor near Attur on the Salem – Ulundurpet National Highway on Thursday night. Four members of a family died on the spot after the car they were travelling collided with a cement and brick-laden tractor at Puthira Goundampalayam Junction, near Attur, on the Salem – Ulundurpet National Highway on Thursday night. At 11.30 p.m. when the car was near the junction, a tractor, driven by Dhanapal, attempted to cross the road. The car hit the tractor following which the front portion of the car was severely damaged. He along with his son, Murugan (35), and sons-in-law Srinivasan (34), and Ramesh (38), were returning home from Ulundurpet.

Natarajan (55), of Muniyappan Kovil in Pallapatti, is a financier. He along with his son, Murugan (35), and sons-in-law Srinivasan (34), and Ramesh (38), were returning home from Ulundurpet. Murugan was on the wheels. At 11.30 p.m. when the car was near the junction, a tractor, driven by Dhanapal, attempted to cross the road. The car hit the tractor following which the front portion of the car was severely damaged. In the impact, all the four died on the spot. Vazhapadi Deputy Superintendent of Police Baskaran and police team retrieved the bodies and sent to Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital. Yethapur police registered a case and search is on for Dhanapal of Perumapalayam in Attur area. Post-mortem was conducted on Friday and the bodies were handed over to the relatives.
