Security guard bludgeoned to death

Cleared/AnilCoimbatore: A private security guard of a godown was found beaten to death on Addis Street here on Saturday early morning. Footage retrieved from a CCTV camera installed in a commercial establishment near the crime scene, police said, showed an unidentified person fighting with the security guard on Friday late night. "The miscreant bludgeoned the security guard's head with a stone," the police said and added that they suspect a pickpocket in connection with the murder.The deceased was identified as R Raman, 55, of Nallampalayam near Ganapathy. The body was handed over to the family members of the deceased after the autopsy.Raman, the police said, had sustained severe head injuries in the attack. The police have retrieved the CCTV footage, which they said was not clear.The Race Course police have registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and further investigation was on.

On Saturday morning, locals found him dead in a pool of blood and alerted the police.Race Course police inspector (incharge) T H Ganesh and team rushed to the spot and sent the body to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. The body was handed over to the family members of the deceased after the autopsy.Raman, the police said, had sustained severe head injuries in the attack. The police have retrieved the CCTV footage, which they said was not clear.The Race Course police have registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and further investigation was on.
