Preparation in full swing for PM's Haridwar rally on February 10

HARIDWAR: Preparations are in full swing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's rally at Haridwar on February 10. Party MP from Haridwar Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank and city MLA Madan Kausik along with teams of devoted party workers are working day-in and day-out keeping in view their prestige at stake. Three helicopters of the Indian Air Force flying from the Sarsawa (Saharanpur) Air Force base rehearsed landing at the BHEL stadium helipad, the police said.As for the BJP, the state unit is leaving no stone unturned to make the rally historic. An anti-bomb squad and a dog squad conducted checking of the rally's venue on Tuesday. Former MP and election in-charge of Haridwar district Balraj Pasi claimed that "the rally going to be historic in all respects will clinch a victory for the party and it will get an absolute majority."

The city is on an alert and intensive checking of all hotels, lodging houses and dharmashalas is going on besides the Rishikul grounds being fortified where the PM is scheduled to address the rally in the afternoon.Led by an IG level police officer, special protection group (SPG) has camped in the city. An anti-bomb squad and a dog squad conducted checking of the rally's venue on Tuesday. Three helicopters of the Indian Air Force flying from the Sarsawa (Saharanpur) Air Force base rehearsed landing at the BHEL stadium helipad, the police said.As for the BJP, the state unit is leaving no stone unturned to make the rally historic. Party candidates in the polls as well as sitting MLAs have been asked to do their best to ensure a huge turnout at the rally being held at Haridwar for the first time after Modi became the Prime Minister.
