NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has arrested an accused who committed sexual assault at gunpoint in Rohini. Delhi Police arrested Aarish with a loaded double barrel pistol and averted a planned murder of the victim. Complainant reported that on July 26, 2019, her friend Aarish took her in a flat in Rohini on the pretext of his birthday celebrations where he and his friend sexually assaulted her at gunpoint. A case was registered in the appropriate sections of law and investigation was taken up. Acting promptly on a secret information, a team of special staff was formed. Aarish disclosed that he was away from his house for last one and half month as he was wanted in this case. He was previously involved in a case of firing at a police party in Geeta Colony and in another case of Arms act of Vijay Vihar. "After coming out of bail, he kept indulging in criminal activities and committed sexual assault at gun point and since then, he was absconding and was planning to murder the victim of the said case, the timely apprehension of the accused foiled his plan to commit murder," said SD Mishra, DCP Rohini.
