Margao man held for killing wife

Margao: Police arrested 48-year-old Joao Antao on Saturday night for murdering his 45-year-old wife Ganga Antao. Later police arrested Joao for murder . Police said Joao, a resident of Shirvodem, Navelim , used an iron rod to assault his wife that led to her death. Police said Joao would regularly beat Ganga under the influence of alcohol. On Saturday evening, when their 15-year-old daughter returned home, she found her mother lying motionless.

Margao: Police arrested 48-year-old Joao Antao on Saturday night for murdering his 45-year-old wife Ganga Antao. Police said Joao, a resident of Shirvodem, Navelim , used an iron rod to assault his wife that led to her death. Police said Joao would regularly beat Ganga under the influence of alcohol. On Saturday evening, when their 15-year-old daughter returned home, she found her mother lying motionless. As she didn't respond to her calls, the daughter raised an alarm. Later police arrested Joao for murder . tnn
