Gurgaon: A supervisor and a painter of an interior design firm were arrested on Wednesday evening for allegedly raping a 36-year-old woman after confining her in a room the previous night.The accused allegedly picked up the woman from her house on a bike on the pretext of completing some pending work. But they took her to a room in a village and then raped her, the woman has said. She managed to escape around midnight and inform her husband who in turn informed cops. An FIR has been registered at the local police station. The accused were arrested on Wednesday. On Thursday, they were remanded in judicial custody The woman hails from Madhya Pradesh. She and her husband both work as labourers with the interior design firm where the accused also worked. On Tuesday, she and her husband were on leave.The woman told the police: “On Tuesday, around 8 pm, she got a call from the supervisor of the company, Babu Lal, saying there was some urgent pending work at the site and they wanted her there. She agreed to go but told him she had no conveyance. After some time, Babu Lal and Ram Ashish, who works as painter in the interior design firm, reached the woman’s house and they took her with them on a bike.”The woman added: “Around 9pm, they reached the village. When she raised her doubt, Babu Lal claimed that some work was pending there. The men took her to a rented room, locked it from inside and then raped her. It was later, after midnight, that she managed to escape and inform her husband, who called the police.”Cops reached the spot and took the woman to a hospital for examination. On Wednesday morning, an FIR was registered against the accused under Section 376 (B) of IPC “The victim was known to the duo and agreed to go with without any suspicion,” said ASI Kavita, the investigating officer. While Babu Lal (29) is from Joniawas village near Farrukhnagar, Ram Ashish (43) is from Gorakhpur in UP. Ashish had rented the room in which she was allegedly raped, said police.
