Crime units to investigate attacks on Gau Rakshaks

GURGAON: The crime units in will now investigate the attacks on Gau Rakshaks in the district, as well as will conduct raids to nab the smugglers. Three gau rakshaks were shot at by beef smugglers in Gurgaon over the weekend in separate incidents.Following the attacks, a meeting was held between the gau rakshaks and Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Balwan Singh Rana. DCP Crime Balbir Singh will monitor the entire operations, while the ACP Sanjeev Balhara will be the supervising officer. The gaurakshaks expressed their grievances regarding their safety and demanded police presence during such rescue operations.Following this, the matter has been handed over to the crime units. "We have assigned four teams from crime units will now be investigating these raids.

The gaurakshaks expressed their grievances regarding their safety and demanded police presence during such rescue operations.Following this, the matter has been handed over to the crime units. DCP Rana requested the gau rakshaks to keep cops in loop in case thereis a tip off, instead of conducting such risky raids on their own. "We have assigned four teams from crime units will now be investigating these raids. DCP Crime Balbir Singh will monitor the entire operations, while the ACP Sanjeev Balhara will be the supervising officer. Also, a dozen check posts have been set up in the affected areas which are mostly in west and south of Gurgaon. We have requested the gau rakshaks to not conduct such raids by themselves. They will now inform police who will conduct raids and make the arrests," said DCP (West) Balwan Rana.
