Telangana govt. to set up more veterinary hospitals

The Minister said that in addition to 2,117 veterinary hospitals, the government would start mobile veterinary clinics, procure 100 vehicles — one for each constituency, and set up call centres to respond to emergencies. Animal Husbandry Minister Thalasani Srinivas Yadav on Wednesday said veterinary hospitals and dispensaries would be set up and vacancies for veterinary doctors would be filled in line with the proposal to increase livestock in the State. TRS members M. Kishan Reddy and Teegala Krishna Reddy said the market should be completed in a time-bound manner. Of the 489 vacancies, 168 veterinary doctors have been recruited. The new market would come up on 178 acres, and a consultant was asked to prepare a detailed project report.

Animal Husbandry Minister Thalasani Srinivas Yadav on Wednesday said veterinary hospitals and dispensaries would be set up and vacancies for veterinary doctors would be filled in line with the proposal to increase livestock in the State. Mr. Yadav was responding to Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLAs E. Ravinder Reddy and A. Ramesh in the Assembly when they sought to know how the government proposed to look after the health of the 84 lakh additional sheep it proposed to distribute to Yadavs and other communities when there was a dearth of veterinary hospitals in the State. The Minister said that in addition to 2,117 veterinary hospitals, the government would start mobile veterinary clinics, procure 100 vehicles — one for each constituency, and set up call centres to respond to emergencies. Of the 489 vacancies, 168 veterinary doctors have been recruited. The government was aware of creating additional posts to cater to the livestock which would increase manifold under the government’s scheme to promote sheep rearing. Constituencies with more livestock would get special attention, Mr. Yadav said. Gaddi Annaram market Marketing Minister T. Harish Rao said the Gaddi Annaram fruit market would be shifted to Koheda in Peda Amberpet mandal to ease traffic congestion in the area. The new market would come up on 178 acres, and a consultant was asked to prepare a detailed project report. Officials visited Punjab, Gujarat, Karnataka, Haryana, and Maharashtra to study modern fruit markets there, and a model market would come to cater to the requirements of the next 50 years. TRS members M. Kishan Reddy and Teegala Krishna Reddy said the market should be completed in a time-bound manner.
