Indore: Police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a minor and abetting suicide of the victim and her sister in Hatpiplia area of Dewas district.The accused, Ravi Damodar Solanki, had allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl after taking her into Syalikheda jungles near Jhikadakheda village on January 5, Hatpipliya police station in-charge Kailash Chouhan told TOI.The victim and her 16-year-old sister were later found in a well, he said.Police had registered a case of suicide and started investigations. Autopsy reports of the victims revealed that the elder sister was raped, Chouhan said.Subsequent probe revealed that Ravi was in contact with the elder sister on phone and had been making advances at her, the inspector said adding he had also picked up a fight with the girls' brother over the issue in the past.On January 5, he had summoned the girls to the jungle area where he raped the elder sister. Failing to bear the trauma, the victim and her sister had jumped into the well and committed suicide.Police had booked Ravi for abduction, rape and abetment of suicide. He was arrested and produced before a court, before being sent on judicial remand.
