INDORE: To safeguard its property from encroachers, DAVV is going through the last phase of work to demarcate its boundary with barbed wires.The fencing is also being done near the boundary wall of DAVV to restrict entry of anti-social elements. The fencing work is being carried out by Indore Municipal Corporation IMC )."The campus boundary wall is being fenced by IMC as the boundary wall is quite low and it becomes difficult to protect such a wide-spread boundary wall. Many pushcart vendors used to encroach on this space outside the boundary wall. This fencing will protect the varsity from outsiders and anti-social elements, who used to jump over the boundary wall to enter the varsity," said DAVV Takshashila campus incharge Prof Deepak Mehta The IMC is now in the final phase of fencing. Once it is complete, the university will have clearly demarcated boundaries, which will help preserve university land and increase security on the campus. The total stretch when completed is expected to be 3-4 km. "As the Swacchta programme is going on in the varsity, we had discussed about the boundary wall issues with IMC. The boundary walls used to be dirty all the time with garbage thrown from food stall vendors," added Mehta . To ensure security on the campus, the varsity has planned to make identity cards mandatory for entry but low boundary walls are seen as hindrance in executing the plan.
