In a shocking incident, a couple from Chakardadharpur area of West Singhbhum district committed suicide by setting themselves on fire following a heated exchange between the two. The deceased has been identified as Israt Bano and Niyaz Akhtar. According to reports, Israt Bano first poured kerosene and set herself ablaze following a dispute. Her husband Niyaz Akhtar after seeing his wife burning he decided to pour kerosene and set himself on fire.

While Akhtar died yesterday, wife Israt succumbed to her injuries this evening. Akhtar’s mother, who had tried to save the couple, also suffered minor burn injuries
