KANPUR: Four passengers, including a cyclist sustained injuries when a tempo turned turtle at GT Road in Bithoor area of the district on Wednesday. The tempo was on its way to Kalyanpur from Chaubeypur.The injured have been identified as Chidana (50), her husband Ram Lakhan (55), Neelam Shukla (46) and cyclist Binda Prasad (50). Ambulance was also called on the spot by the villagers.The tempo driver, whose identity could not be ascertained, however, managed to escape from the site of the mishap. They were rushed to the nearby hospital in Mandhana for treatment. Those who sustained serious injuries were referred to a nearby private hospital.According to the injured passengers, the tempo was going at a high speed, and when it reached GT Road underpass, one Binda Prasad, riding a bicycle, came in its way and the tempo turned turtle.After the accident, several villagers ventured into the rescue operation and later informed the local police.
