Kolhapur: From the stretch of CSIBER College square to NCC bhavan of the Shivaji University, the organisers of Happy Streets have a string of events lined up to cater the needs of enthusiasts today.The creative event will be starting from 7am onwards. Happy Streets is an initiative by the Times of India and Maharashtra Times.This year Happy Streets have brought an exciting mix of activities promoting health and happiness among people. The jam packed road will be showcasing innovative games such as soccer, aero- modelling and skating.After successfully completing Happy Streets for two years now, this year has brought health bonanza for everyone. There is a line-up of health favourites and also a couple of new events adding to the thrill of Happy Streets. The combined effort of the Times group and city police has made Happy Street a success this year.This year, they have tried to popularize the concept of vehicle-free roads and usage of non-motorized transport as a means of improving the quality of life for citizens.On Sunday, the CSIBER college road is going to turn into a vehicle-free zone. It's going to be a fun-filled three hours with a bit of everything from dance, music, yoga and meditation to cycling, football and badminton for the health enthusiasts.As part of the current season, Happy Streets has had one outing on Dhyanchand Hockey stadium on January 8. Two more activities are slated to be conducted at Crusher chowk and later at the circuit house areas on the subsequent Sundays, after January 15.Earlier last week the environment was electrifying as thousands of people ignored the slight chill in the air to assemble at Hockey stadium and participate in the first outing of this year Happy Streets. The event was bigger and better with a range of events ensuring participants stay enjoy every bit of the event.
