Investigating into the case, police have arrested one person so far.The incident comes a week after an elderly journalist and a middle aged businessman were assaulted in Salt Lake for protesting against drinking in open , outside their houses. "The woman complaints that she had asked them to not to drink there and go elsewhere, to which the four men held her and one of them pulled her saree. KOLKATA: A woman in her 30s was molested and his father was severely beaten when the family protested against a group of men drinking and abusing outside their house at Hatiara in New Town on Saturday night.The incident happened beside the 30C bus stand a little before midnight when the woman was returning to her home and was allegedly teased by a group of drivers and conductors who were drinking right outside their house. The family took the man to a nearby hospital and he was given multiple stitches.On Sunday morning, the family alleged that learning that a complaint has been registered, the men returned and vandalised our house and stationary shop alongside the house. When she screamed, her father came out and when he tried to set her free, another person attacked him with a bamboo stick and he fell down," said an officer of New Town police station.As the elderly person fell on the road and started bleeding from his head, the men fled the spot.
