Speaking to reporters at a Makkal Sevai Maiyam (Public Service Centre), started by BJP functionaries, he said that the thumping victory showed that people supported Mr. Modi in a big way. Not only in Mumbai, the elections held in Odisha also favoured the BJP, indicating that even those in the tribal pockets welcomed PM’s initiatives such as transparent administration. The victory had silenced the critics and the rising popularity of the BJP could not be stopped. It was spreading to the south as well. The days were not very far when the party would rule Tamil Nadu too, Dr. Harsh Vardan said Responding to a query, he said the 104 satellites launched recently by the ISRO on a single day reflected the prowess of Indian scientists. “A country, which turned down visa for Mr. Modi once has welcomed the achievements of ISRO. Interestingly, 90 satellites belonged to the USA,” he said. The Minister was in the city to participate in a condolence meeting of the party’s State general secretary, S.R. Saravana Perumal, who passed away two days ago.
