CCB sleuths nab Ghanaian national for cocaine possession in Karnataka

MANGALURU: Sleuths of City Crime Branch (CCB) on Monday apprehended Ghanaian national and recovered cocaine worth Rs 5.5 lakh from his possession. Christopher had come to India two years ago on a business visa and had overstayed illegally in India even after his visa expired. He was involved in the business of supplying cocaine to people, city police chief said, adding the CCB personnel also seized two mobile phones and Rs 3,300 in cash from him.The accused had come to the city on two or three previous occasion, sold cocaine to his clientele, he said, adding the accused has been handed over to Mangaluru East police station for further investigation and necessary legal action. Based on a tip-off that the Ghanaian who had come to city via Goa was scouting for prospective customers from the drug here, the CCB personnel headed by PSI Shyam Sunder under directions from the senior police officials arrested the accused at Lobo Lane at Mallikatte in the city.City police chief M Chandra Sekhar named the accused as Chigozie Francis Christopher, 37, resident of 20, Somorin, Lagos, Gbagada in Ghana.
