Uttar Pradesh polls: Bijnor cops list 29,000 potential troublemakers, serve them notices

Bijnor: In their bid to ensure tight security during the upcoming polls, police department in Bijnor has listed 29,000 persons based on their criminal records and anti-social activities as potential troublemakers and has issued notices to them. These people who have come under police scanner will have to take bail from the courts of their respective SDMs.” No untoward incident will be allowed to occur in the district. Police constables are going to the villages to serve notices to the people who might create problems during the polls.”Sub-division magistrate Anuj Singh said, “People who have no crime records have been issued notices under sections 107/116 of CrPC and the people who have crime record are under section 110G. Of them, 526 are hardened criminals.According to the police, 144 villages in the district have been marked ‘vulnerable’ as these are infested with notorious mischief-mongers.Additional superintendent of police (rural) Dharamveer Singh said, “We have made all preparations for the assembly polls.
