CM Fadnavis violated election code of conduct: Shiv Sena

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena MP Anil Desai on Monday raised an objection over chief minister Devendra Fadnavis' media interviews stating that election commission should take action against CM for violation of model code of conduct. BJP also refuted Sena allegations saying that Sena has already accepted defeat, hence are coming out daily with new allegations which have no substance. "We suspect that his interviews after the campaign ended, could be paid news ," said Raut. "CM Fadnavis has violated the model code of conduct as his views, experssed on a private news channel interviews could influence voters directly," said Desai.Sena leader Sanjay Raut alleged that CM putting a party symbol on his jacket during an interview and use of an official bungalow 'Varsha' for an interview is the violation of election code. Raut has also clarified that a letter with his fake sign and content is being spread on social media.Meanwhile, State Election Commissioner JS Saharia clarified that while the commission has stopped printing of advertisements in newspapers, audio-visual advertisements on private television channels and bulk paid SMSes, it cannot put restrictions on individual interviews.
