MUMBAI: A Vasai woman lost Rs one lakh to online shopping after she shared details of her co-operative bank account with an unknown caller.Between March 26 and 27, the 52-year-old woman who has an account with the Citizen Credit Co-operative Bank in Vasai got a call on her cellphone. The caller identified himself as a bank staffer and asked for the woman's Aadhaar Card number. She was told that the bank was in the process of linking the Aadhaar card to the bank account.On sharing the Aadhaar card number, the caller asked the woman to share details of her bank ATM card. Within seconds Rs one lakh worth of shopping was done using her card.A case of cheating has been filed with the Manickpur police station. Interestingly, the caller even called the victim and asked her to share the One Time Password (OTP) received on her cellphone.
