Lack of infrastructure and missing names from the voters list was the most common issue senior citizens faced on Voting Day.69-year-old Surekha Kumbhar said that access to toilets was the biggest issue at her polling booth allotted at Saraswati School near Red Cross Signal. Since it was our duty to cast our vote, she went all the way to do so. But, I was deprived of the right," the 70-year-old voter, said.Echoing similar views a 68-year-old voter, Shaikh Abeeda, said that she could not find her name in the voters list. "I asked the security personnel about the toilet and he directed me to go upstairs. "This is surprising as I have never missed out on casting my vote in all elections for the past 30 years.

Lack of infrastructure and missing names from the voters list was the most common issue senior citizens faced on Voting Day.69-year-old Surekha Kumbhar said that access to toilets was the biggest issue at her polling booth allotted at Saraswati School near Red Cross Signal. "I asked the security personnel about the toilet and he directed me to go upstairs. How can I climb 39 steps at the school to go to the toilet? Such arrangements should have been made at the ground floor," Kumbhar said.Another senior citizen Vilas Apte was in a quandary when he found that he could not cast his vote as his name had been deleted from the voters list. "I am a resident of Indira Nagar and yet my name was deleted from the list. My wife's name has been shifted to a neighbouring ward. Since it was our duty to cast our vote, she went all the way to do so. But, I was deprived of the right," the 70-year-old voter, said.Echoing similar views a 68-year-old voter, Shaikh Abeeda, said that she could not find her name in the voters list."This is surprising as I have never missed out on casting my vote in all elections for the past 30 years. It is baffling how my name can go missing. My husband's name appears in the neighbouring ward. But, he could got go all the way just to vote because of his age," Shaikh Abeeda, said.Similar was the case with Sanjay Kamble, a resident of Ambad village, who did not cast his vote because his name had been shifted to another location. "I stay in Ambad village and the election centre for me was at Pathardi village. How can I go this long when I am unable to travel on my own?" he questioned.
