Noida, Greater Noida CEO warns of strict action if employees do not report on time

NOIDA: A day after the chief executive officer (CEO) of Noida and Greater Noida authorities issued an order to all staff members to reach office on time or face legal action in Greater Noida, he carried out a similar inspection in Noida on Wednesday. The two authorities observe a five-day week.The Noida authority has more than 1500 permanent employees who work in Sector 6 and other offices located in sectors 5, 19 and 39. Agarwal has directed each department head to monitor subordinate employees to ensure that they reach office on time.Agarwal had on Tuesday conducted a similar inspection of Greater Noida Authority and found 25% staff absent from their duties.

Besides sending out a strict warning of impending action, the CEO said that the next time absentee employees will have to forfeit a day's salary.The move follows UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath 's direction that all government officials have to be punctual to office. The CM had issued the directions after taking his oath as CM.Speaking to TOI, Agarwal said that he started his inspection of Noida Authority around 10 am and found about 30% employees not on duty. "I have issued the first warning and sought explanations for the absence. The next time we will deduct one day's leave/salary," he said. "To make sure employee's mark their attendance, I have also ordered the installation of a biometric machine," he said. "Repeat offenders will face legal action as per rules," he added.According to the rules, employees in the two industrial authorities have to reach office by 9:30 am and not leave before 5pm.
