CM launches free Wi-Fi on 305 edu campuses

Patna: Bihar rolled out free Wi-Fi services on the campuses of its 16 universities, 273 colleges and 16 higher educational institutions as it celebrated the 105th Bihar foundation day on Wednesday.A brainchild of CM Nitish Kumar , the infotech facility was dedicated to the state's "hard-working students" by Kumar while inaugurating the three-day Bihar Diwas celebrations at the historic Gandhi Maidan."Biharis are hard working and have always cracked the toughest competitive examinations. They do migrate to other states in pursuit of livelihood, but never asked for charity. If Biharis in Delhi boycott their work even for a day, the capital city will come to halt," Nitish said, stoking the Bihari pride.The CM recalled the longest human chain formation on January 21 in the state to promote prohibition. "The first phase of campaign that started on January 21 ends today. Now we will move a step further and work on 'nasha-mukt' Bihar in the second phase which will continue for ever," he said, giving credit for the success of prohibition to people's support.He said Bihar would celebrate the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi's Chamapran Satyagrah from April 10. "The places visited by the Mahatma will be developed... Films portraying his life and teachings will be screened in every village," he said, adding the teachings of Bapu had become all the more relevant in this age of intolerance all around.Referring to his 'Saat Nischay', or seven resolves, Nitish said his government has planned to open engineering, medical and vocational institutes in Bihar.
