Bengal man held in Himachal for threatening to blow Reliance office

SHIMLA: Cyber crime team of Himachal Pradesh police has arrested a resident of West Bengal on the charges of threatening to blow the Reliance Jio office.Police has seized one mobile phone and two SIM cards from the possession of the accused, who is being interrogated for making threatening calls.The accused, identified as Anirudha Dey (26) of village Tanti Para Baiyer Khandaghosh in district Burdwan of West Bengal, said he had been living in Baddi town of Solan district of Himachal Pradesh for the last three years and was working as a security guard with Apotex Pharma Company.DIG (CID-Crime) Dr Vinod Dhawan said that Dey was apprehended from his rented accommodation at Baddi on Monday. He said that the original address of the accused was being verified.Reliance Jio Infocom Himachal ciricle office general manager Rohit Puri had lodged a complaint with Cyber Crime Police Station, Shimla, alleging that some unknown person was making repeated calls from his mobile phone and was threatening to causing a bomb blast at Reliance Office Based on this complaint, an FIR was registered and the location of mobile number used to make threatening calls was traced with the help of concerned service provider.On finding the location of mobile in Baddi Industrial Area, a team comprising inspector Naresh Sharma, sub-inspector Manoj Kumar, constables including Ashwani Patyal, Rocky Kumar and Avinash Kumar under the supervision of SP Sandeep Dhwal was sent to Baddi.Police are also verifying how the accused procured the SIM without verification.
