THANE: A 24-years-old youth from Uttan was found guilty of stalking a teenage school girl has been convicted and sentenced to one year imprisonment by the district court here. MM Walimohammed, the special POCSO Judge also held that the accused Swiden Greshan Golaso , had committed offences falling under sections 354(A)(D) of the IPC and also sections 11 (iv) and 12 of the POCSO Act the judge stated.The prosecutor Mrs RN Hivrale told the court that the accused and the victim resided in one and the same locality. The victim who was studying in the ninth standard in a convent in the village. During her weekly holidays from the school she went to the residence of her uncle to watch TV the prosecution stated in it submission. The uncle had employed the accused in his boat. It also added that the accused also visited the same place and developed friendship with the victim and used to haress her frequently when he met her. He also made advances to her when ever she met her.The prosecution also alleged that the accused at times followed her on her way to school and stalked at her the complaint by the victim stated. He even said that 'tula Bhagitla shivay mala chain nahi padat". The judge in his order stated that the prosecution has proved that it was on August 26,2016 near the convent the accused committed the act of physical contact with the victim and made sexual coloured remarks. And or attempted to contact victim repeatedly despite her clear indication of disinterest the judge said in his order while answered in the affirmative.Convicting the accused the judge noted, "the evidence of complainant is believable that accused was following her when she was coming from school/watching her directly.
