Two boys drown in pond near Perambalur in TN

The boys ventured into the centre of the pond and got trapped in mud.Hearing the boys’ cried, locals rushed to the pond and rescued Sakthi Kalaiselvan. However, they could not save Sakthi Dhandapani and Santhosh.The Mangalamedu police were investigating. Sakthi was studying in Class VII and Santhosh was studying in Class VI in a private school at Ogalur.As it was a holiday, the two boys along with another boy, identified as Sakthi Kalaiselvan, went to the pond to bathe. TRICHY: Two schoolboys, aged 12 and 11 years, drowned in a pond at Ogalur in Perambalur district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday evening.The victims have been identified as Sakthi, 12, son of Dhandapani, and Santhosh, 11, son of Maharajan.
