Speaking at the valediction of Productivity Week observation, he said all valid suggestions from employees must be documented and effort must be taken to implement them. Emphasising the need for investment in innovation and R&D, he said that BHEL was on par with any other company in power sector on this aspect and projects and patents must be utilised for further diversification. He outlined various measures taken to increase productivity by way of capital investment, mobilising resources and enhancing fixed assets towards diversification as well as improving processes. BHEL has good management systems and tools to increase productivity, he added. Mr.Rajamanohar presented awards to departments which effected maximum savings by implementing IMPRESS projects and maximum number of projects and suggestions. He gave away prizes to winners of various competitions held earlier. R.Easwaran, General Manager (in-charge), Welding Research Institute, Labs and Quality, P.Balakumar, Additional General Manager, Management Services, and Sarmit Kumar, Senior Engineer, BHEL, Tiruchi, spoke.
