Union minister J P Nadda to supervise campaigning in Varanasi

VARANASI: Union health minister J P Nadda will camp in Varanasi and supervise poll campaign of five assembly seats in Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's parliamentary constituency.Nadda reached Varanasi before the arrival of BJP chief Amit Shah on Tuesday evening. "On opposition tagetting Modi, the minister said "the strong wave of Modi has compelled the opposition leaders to lose their cool". While Union minister Smriti Irani held three public meetings in Cantonment, City North and Rohaniya assembly areas, Delhi unit president and MP Manoj Tiwari also addressed a gathering in Konia in City South assembly area. Another Union minister, Narendra Singh Tomar, held a press conference in which he termed ruling SP and its alliance partner Congress as "snake and mongoose".Nadda also held meetings with small groups of traders and doctors at Varanasi branch of Indian Medical Association in the evening. Apart from Shah and Nadda, BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya, senior office-bearers of party's state and Kashi Pranth organization, held a closed-door meeting in which the party candidates from all the five seats were also called after sometime.Following the meeting, BJP intensified its poll campaign in the district. While Union minister Smriti Irani held three public meetings in Cantonment, City North and Rohaniya assembly areas, Delhi unit president and MP Manoj Tiwari also addressed a gathering in Konia in City South assembly area. Another Union minister, Narendra Singh Tomar, held a press conference in which he termed ruling SP and its alliance partner Congress as "snake and mongoose".Nadda also held meetings with small groups of traders and doctors at Varanasi branch of Indian Medical Association in the evening. Avoiding to make a direct appeal to the doctors from the forum of IMA to support BJP, Nadda said that "keeping the work of Modi government in view, it is the responsibility of all sections of the society to support it".When asked why BJP is focussing only on five of the eight assembly seats of the district, Nadda claimed that "the party is contesting on each and every assembly seat of the state with an aim to win". "I have come here to work and not to speak."On opposition tagetting Modi, the minister said "the strong wave of Modi has compelled the opposition leaders to lose their cool".
