Employees of over 50 companies and several educational institutions, including Tech Mahindra, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Chegg India, WNS Global Services Pvt. Ltd. and NTPC, have taken a pledge to go cashless in response to the Digital India campaign. Ltd, Tech Mahindra, Patra India BPO, Chegg India, AP Police and educational institutes like Andhra University, Vignan Institute of Information Technology, Sri Chaitanya Engineering College, ICAI, IGIAT, BITS and Kendriya Vidyalaya. “They have taken a pledge to pay salaries and other payments online and ask the employees to use NEFT facility and digital wallets. Responding to the demonetisation decision on November 8 and the call by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reduce cash transactions, the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) in coordination with other agencies organised a series of meetings to popularise digital transactions.
