An Intermediate second-year student of a private college drowned in RK Beach when he had gone to the beach to take a holy dip marking the culmination of Maha Sivaratri celebrations on Friday morning. While they were swimming in the waters, Sairam was caught in a strong current which took him deep into the sea. Police said Sairam along with his friend came to the beach for the holy dip. The dead body of Sairam was washed ashore near Pandurangapuram. The deceased was identified as K. Sairam (18), resident of Arilova area in the city.
