"Repeated postponement of OBE in DU proves its untenability. Do not increase students` anxiety and stress,” said the letter.
Delhi University, DU told the High court that the final year open book exam (OBE) that was scheduled to be held on July 10, 2020, has now been postponed to be held in August.
The fresh dates of the DU Final Year OBE 2020 will be released on the official website. Delhi University administration faced severe flak from students and faculty over the handling of the situation as far the exams are concerned.
DU Final year exam 2020: Mock test
The mock test that was conducted by DU to give a first-hand experience of the open book examination on July 10 turned out to be a nightmare for the students.
The executive council members in the letter mentioned how the mock test was chaotic and added more stress to the already distressed students during the pandemic.
1. There were some instances of the crash of the concerned portal
2. The students faced problems in accessing/log in the portal
3. Many subjects had no question papers. In such cases, the students were told to upload blank paper or writing anything. In such a situation, the whole purpose of the mock test gets defeated
4. In many cases, the students got question papers of 4th semester instead of 6th semester
5. The students found the data slot of 5MB/file for uploading insufficient
6. Some students have also reported of their password being tampered with
7. The Executive Council members demanded to the DU VC, that keeping in the view of the situation and chaotic mock test cancel the online OBE as the beginning of the mock test seems to be forewarning us about an impending disaster and postponement of the exams is not a solution.
