CTET Examination date, scheduled for June 22 has been delayed, notification stating the reason for the delay has been released on the official website - ctet.nic.in. It mentions that the examination for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test has been postponed due to administrative reasons. The notification also mentioned that the next date for the exam is finalised on September 16.

Candidates who want to seek government job can apply for the same on the official website. 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks in the minimum educational qualification would be given to the candidates from the  SC/ST/OBC/differently abled categories.

Schedule for the CTET Recruitment 2018 examination:

  • Paper II: 9:30 am to 12 pm
  • Paper I: 2 pm to 4:30 pm

CTET Recruitment 2018 Eligibility criteria

Educational qualification for becoming a teacher for casses 1 to 5:

The candidate should have qualified the Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) exam with at least 50 per cent marks. He/ she should either pass or appear in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

The candidate should be in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002, besides passing Class 12 or Senior Secondary exam with at least 45 per cent marks.

OR

The applicant should pass Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Should have at leasrt 50 per cent marks in the Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and appeared or passed in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

OR

The candidate should have a graduation degree and pass or appear in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Educational qualification for becoming teacher for Classes 6 to 8:

The candidates who wish to sit in the examination should have completed graduation and should have passed or should be appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

Must have a graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)

OR

The candidates must pass graduation with atleast 45 per cent marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE.

OR

Senior secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Candidates who wish to take the examination must pass Senior secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

OR

Or Any candidate having qualified B.Ed programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET.

CTET Recruitment 2018: Exam pattern

  • Paper 1 will be for candidates who applied as teacher for classes 1 to 5.
  • Paper 2 will be for a candidate who applied as teacher for classes 6 to 8.

CTET 2018: Examination timing

  • Paper II - 9.30 am to 12.00 pm
  • Paper I - 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm.
