The young talented lad from Mathura got an invitation from President to have dinner with him at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. He is also invited to the Festival of Innovation from 19th March to 23rd March. He will also present his unique innovation at the mega innovation event.

Shikanto’s lifting machine has two wheels and a box to collect the garbage. On pulling up the handle, the wiper collects the garbage and drives it into the box. 

In August 2016, Shikanto Mandal’s invention was chosen as the best lifting machine in an exhibition held by Jaygurudev College. Also, his model was recognized at the state level in an exhibition held in Lucknow.

On the same line, young Shikanto in 2016 was invited over by former president Pranab Mukherjee for dinner during Festival of Innovation.

Apart from this, his model was also recognized in an exhibition at Japan. Though he couldn’t attend the festival because he could not complete the passport formalities.

Shikanto’s model is patented by a company of Gujarat, where he’ll be 50 % owner of the market share.

During his academic days, Shikanto shared his idea with the Swach Bharat Team, to shape his idea he was given a reward sum of Rs. 5000 by the National Innovation Foundation. Shikanto comes from a background where he accompanied by his two brothers. His father works as a labourer on daily wage. It is the talent of the young lad that brought laurels to his family and he had an honour of meeting the President.
