FIR against Priya Varrier's song for hurting Muslim sentiments

The director of the film, Omar Lulu, has clarified that the song is another rendition of an old song from the 70s and is being sung by people from all communities in the film.

After gaining popularity on social media, actress Priya Prakash Varrier’s viral song 'Manikya Malaraya Poovi’ song from the film ‘Oru Adaar Love’ has landed into legal trouble.

As per reports a complaint has been filed against the song by Muqeeth Khan for hurting Muslim community sentiments. Khan alleges that the lyrics of the song insult Prophet Muhammad when translated to English.

However, he said that those who find the lyrics hurtful, have nothing against its actress.

The director of the film, Omar Lulu, has clarified that the song is another rendition of an old song from the 70s and is being sung by people from all communities in the film.

He also says that there is no question of removing the song from the film as it has nothing against any religion.
