Hrithik’s ‘Super 30’ to Sara Ali’s ‘Kedarnath’ Bolllywood is shifting to small towns, Take a look

Small towns have become the prime locations for filmmakers these days and certainly, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand have become their favourite. Have a look

Travelling back to 1954, it was the first time when an overseas location was seen in India cinema. Sangam brought Europe to the screens and since then, the foreign locations became quite popular. With Switzerland, Europe, Miami coming into picture the raw freshness of the country took a backseat. For the ultimate glammed leads who decked up, lavish suit pieces were the ideal hero the world looked up to.

But in the century long history of Bollywood, there have been too many experiments, first times and the trends. The paradigm of Indian cinema is changing at a broader level. Talking about the trends these days Bollywood is witnessing major reforms. The glam leads have changed into local attires shooting in the backdrop of raw, original and picturesque destinations in the country itself.

In recent times seems like filmmakers are adopting the notion that blockbusters are not only made in Paris or Tokyo but they can be made in the small towns like Pithoragarh and Tehri as well. Also, with recent films like Toilet Ek Prem Katha shot in Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh or Padman in Maheshwar, the audience connected and fell in awe with the film.

Not only this, recently the filmmakers are on a journey to explore the beauty of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand like never before. Films like Ranjhana, Sultaan, Tanu Weds Manu Youngistan, Behen Hogi Teri, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, Bareily Ki Barfi, Dedh Ishqiya, Jolly LLB 2, Tevar,  Babumoshai Bandookbaaz and the list can go on are all filmed in the two states. And the trend does not seem to disappear anytime soon for promising movies like Ajay Devgan’s Raid, Shahid Kapoor’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Sara Ali Khan’s debutant Kedarnath and Hrithik’s Super 30 are all set to bring the flavours of northern India.

Films brewed up in the local tang received much love and appreciation and with this, the industry is definitely expected to look forward to such destinations.
