Kannada TV host Chandan dies in a road accident

Several South actors like Prem, Duniya Vijay and more have mourned the actor’s untimely death.

Kannad TV host Chandan Kumar popularly known as Chandan, passed away in a road accident near Harihara of Davangere on Thursday morning.

Chandan was travelling in a car with two other television actors who sustained minor injuries but survived.

It all happened when the 35-yr-old Chandan was travelling with his friends to Hubballi where his speedy car banged into the parked lorry. The local police have registered the case and investigating it.

Chandan was working for a music channel and had won the hearts of viewers for speaking Kannada in its purest form. He had even acted in a couple of Kannada movies. Chandan who was a diehard fan of late actor Dr Rajkumar had even hosted a special programme on him.

He is known for his work in the television soap opera Radha Kalyana and later Lakshmi Baramma, in which he played the role of Chandu that was aired from 2012. During the time, he was offered several films for which he had to step out of the serial mid-way. Chandan’s first film to be released was Parinaya in 2014. Subsequently he starred in few low-budget films until the multi-starrer film, Luv U Alia (2015) directed by Indrajit Lankesh came into picture.

Apart from serials and films, Chandan has been a contestant for the reality shows such as Pyate Mandi Kadige Hodru, "Dancing Stars season 1" and ‘Bigg Boss Kannada 3’.
