Janhvi Kapoor reveals what helped her cope with mom Sridevi's death

When asked if she always wanted to be an actress like her mom, she said, "I don't know if I always knew that I wanted to act but I was always inclined towards movies. It is something that I am very passionate about. Working in Dhadak feels like a dream come true. It is too good to be true."

Janhvi Kapoor is all set to make her Bollywood debut with 'Dhadak', but her mom Sridevi is not around anymore to be able to see the final cut. It was Sridevi who wanted her Janhvi to appear on big screen with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.

When the trailer of Dhadak released last week, the entire Kapoor clan came to cheer for Janhvi. With the sudden demise of Sridevi, things haven't been the same for Janhvi. However, the star kid displayed immense professionalism when she returned to the film sets a few weeks after her mom's death. And since then she has been keeping herself busy with her work.

In an interview to a leading tabloid television's Sushant Mehta, Janhvi for the first time opened up on life after Sridevi and how she pulled herself out of the shocking experience.

"It hasn't been an easy experience. My work and my family have given me the strength to go on. If it wasn't for coming back to the sets of Dhadak or being able to act, I think it would have been much tougher than what it is now. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to work in the film and act. It saved me in many ways," Janhvi said.

When asked if she always wanted to be an actress like her mom, she said, "I don't know if I always knew that I wanted to act but I was always inclined towards movies. It is something that I am very passionate about. Working in Dhadak feels like a dream come true. It is too good to be true."

She added that coming from a filmi family, movies was something that she was always interested in. "In my family, it is the only that we discuss. It's the only thing we knew. Every time we sit at home and have a conversation with one another, it is always about films. Even when we go out to spend time together, we go out to watch a movie. Holidays were always about dad's shooting schedules or mom's shooting schedules. We have grown up in that environment," added Janhvi.

'Dhadak' is all set to release on 20th July and we can't contain out excitement to watch Janhvi Kapoor on the big screen.
