Sachin Tendulkar attends ‘Soorma’ screening with daughter Sara

Shaadi Ali, director of ‘Soorma’, played host to Sachin, his wife Anjali and daughter Sara at the screening of the film.

Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Soorma’ is all set for a release this Friday and the makers decided to host a special screening of the film for cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and his family. The film is also based on sports and focuses on the comeback story of former Indian hockey captain Sandeep Singh.

For the unversed on August 21, 2006, Singh was seriously injured after being hit by an accidental gunshot in a Shatabadi Express train, while on his way to join the national team due to leave for the World Cup in Germany two days later. He was almost paralysed and in a wheelchair for 1 year of his life. Sandeep not only recovered from that serious injury but also established himself again in the Indian team.

Talking about the lead actor Diljit Dosanjh, after the phenomenal success of 'Udta Punjab', he became a household name. The Punjabi actor has since starred in two more Hindi films, but his most ambitious film in a lead role is yet to come.
