In its segment, the Datsun models are the last to offer an automatic variant. But the Japanese carmaker is the first in the segment to offer a CVT automatic while the rivals offer AMTs and a CVT is a more advanced, refined and sophisticated technology. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is still BS4 and is expected to get updated to meet BS6 emission norms by April 2020.
The GO+ is the first sub-4m MPV to get an automatic variant as the Renault Triber is only available with the 5-speed manual transmission for now.
Since it is the top-spec variant, both the GO and GO+ come equipped with dual front airbags, vehicle dynamic control, rear parking sensors and follow-me-home headlamps. It also gets the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED DRLs and 14-inch alloy wheels.
The GO competes against the likes of Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Celerio and Ignis. All of these models come with a petrol engine and offer AMT options from lower variants too. Here’s how the price ranges(ex-showroom Delhi) for their petrol-automatic variants compare:
