The 2020 Auto Expo has been all about next-gen autos and electric mobility, and right from home-grown automakers like Tata Motors and Mahindra to global brands like Renault and Kia Motors, several manufacturers showcased their respective futuristic vehicles.

Given that it is Asia`s biggest automobile exhibition, Auto Expo doubles up as the ideal destination for carmakers to unveil new vehicles. And in line with that, the Greater Noida Auto Expo 2020 is no different, with a raft of new vehicles making their India debut here.

Here we have listed down top picks from the vehicle line-up on display at the 2020 Auto Expo.

Maruti Suzuki Futuro E

Maruti Suzuki’s Futuro-E electric concept SUV made its global debut at Auto Expo 2020. It previews the design for Maruti’s future mobility solutions. Technical specifications of Maruti’s concept SUV haven’t been revealed yet. However, it looks striking from certain angles thanks to its SUV-coupe silhouette.

Tata Altroz EV

First unveiled to the world at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Tata Altroz EV finally made its India debut at this year`s Auto Expo. Slated to become the third electric car from the company, after the Tigor EV and Nexon EV, the Altroz EV, and will become the first electric premium hatchback in India. Slated to be launched later this year, the Tata Altroz EV will come with the company`s Ziptron electric powertrain technology, which means the car will offer an electric range of over 250 km on a single charge.

Kia Sonet

Kia Sonet is the South Korean carmaker`s concept that previews the company`s upcoming sub-compact SUV. Sonet, which had its global premiere at the Auto Expo 2020, sports a sharp design tenet highlighted by sculpted bonnet, Tiger-nose grille, large airdams, LED tail light, and, twin chrome exhaust pipes. The Sonet will borrow engines from Hyundai Venue. So, it will come with the option of 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre petrol engine. As for diesel engine, Sonet`s production model will most probably get Seltos` 1.5-litre diesel unit.

Mahindra eXUV300

Besides launching eKUV100 at the Auto Expo, the Indian carmaker also showcased eXUV300, which is XUV300 SUV`s electric version. The model at the Greater Noida Auto Expo 2020 is a prototype that comes equipped with a 350V powertrain. The production spec model will be underpinned by Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture (MESMA) platform and will most probably draw power from a high capacity battery pack. Mahindra eXUV300`s India launch is expected to take place next year and the SUV will face competition from Tata Nexon EV.

i30 Fastback

The i30N Fastback might be coming to India soon. The car was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. The fact that Hyundai might be contemplating to launch it’s N sub-brand, makes the launch of Hyundai i30 N fastback more practical. The Hyundai i30 N fastback churns out 250 hp and generates a massive 353 Nm of torque.
