Upcoming Hatchbacks In 2019

This is the list of the top 4 inexpensive and upcoming Hatchbacks of 2019, as the year kicks off.  The list which includes the upgraded versions of Maruti WagonR, Ford Figo etc. , equipped with the latest of technologies that are installed as the components of the anatomy of an Electric Vehicle.  Since the price of such vehicles is going to be at a low cost,  most Indian car consumers can`t wait to pre-order their preferred vehicle as soon as possible.  

With the new year underway, various manufacturers are set to kickstart 2019 with a flurry of new cars. These include all-new versions of popular nameplates like the Maruti WagonR and Hyundai Grand i10 to updated versions of others like the Ford Figo. Apart from these, expect a slew of new EVs as well. Here’s a list of hatchbacks that are headed our way this year.

1.  Maruti WagonR

Let’s start the list with one of the most popular hatchbacks in the country, the Maruti WagonR. The latest generation of the tall boy hatchback is likely to sport significant cosmetic and feature updates over the outgoing generation. While it`s set to be powered by the same set of petrol and CNG-powered engines as the outgoing model, it could also receive an all-electric powertrain somewhere down the line.

Launch Timeline: 23 January 2019

Expected Prices: Rs 4.10 lakh to Rs 5.50 lakh

2.  Ford Figo

Ford launched the 2018 Aspire today at an introductory price of Rs 5.55 lakh (ex-showroom India). At the launch, Ford was also kind enough to inform us that we should keep our eyes and ears peeled for the first quarter of 2019 as the Figo facelift is set to arrive by March 2019. 

The Figo was launched after the Aspire in 2015 and Ford intends to follow the same pattern for the facelift as well. We can expect the changes to be similar between the two cars. The Figo is likely to get the same cellular grille as the Aspire along with upsized wheels and an updated front fascia.

Launch timeline: March 2019

Expected prices: Rs 4.75 lakh to Rs 7.50 lakh

3.  Tata Tiago  EV

The Tata Tiago EV made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2018. It has been developed by Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC). The all-electric Tiago gets its power from an electric motor that generates 30 kW at 4,500 rpm.

The car can be charged from 0-80 % in 6 hours using a normal charger. A fast charger takes just 90 minutes to provide a similar charge. The Tata Tiago EV has a driving range of 130 km. It takes 360 minutes to charge this battery from 0 to 80% using a regular charger.

4.  Hyundai Grand I10

The new generation 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 has been spotted testing for the very first time. The car has been snapped doing test runs in South Korea that happens to be the company`s home market. The 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 test mule can be seen wearing heavy camouflage and hence, the exact design changes are not visible properly.
