Johnson & Johnson moves up the timeline for human trial of its Corona virus vaccine

The company plans to start the vaccine`s phase 1 trial next week. More than 1,000 participants are enrolled in the trial.

Johnson & Johnson said on Thursday that it hopes to move up its timeline to late September to start a late-stage human trial for its coronavirus vaccine.

Company officials made the announcement on an earnings call with investors.

Chief Scientific Officer Paul Stoffels said that Johnson & Johnson is discussing the potential development with the National Institutes of Health.

The company plans to start the vaccine`s phase 1 trial next week. More than 1,000 participants are enrolled in the trial.

There are more than 100 coronavirus vaccines currently under development, according to the World Health Organization, and more than 20 have started human trials.
