Ramdev`s Patanjali has claimed that it has developed a cure for coronavirus in form of ayurvedic drug – Coronil kit priced Rs 545. He claimed, “The Coronil medicine developed by Patanjali has been 100% successful in curing coronavirus patients.”

Patanjali claims it as the first ayurvedic medicine to cure coronavirus disease even as the scientific community the world over struggles to develop an effective cure for the highly contagious disease which has infected nearly 90 lakh people.

According to Ramdev Ayurvedic elements including Ashwagandha, Giloy, and Tulsi are used in the tablet. “There are more than 100 compounds used in the Coronil,” he added. An entire kit is being made for that which consists of other Ayurvedic medicine as well which helps in immunity.

The ayurvedic ingredients help in boosting internal immunity and fight other symptoms including fever, cold and cough.

Ramdev Said, "Coming up with a clinically tested, evidence-based medicine was a challenge," as he launched Patanjali`s Coronil tablet, which is part of the Divya Corona Kit that includes another tablet and an oil. The entire kit comes at Rs 600. However, the company has announced that it will be given for free to those living below the poverty line.

Patanjali claimed `Coronil` and `Swasari` had shown 100% favourable results during clinical trials on affected patients, at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar.

The yoga guru even said, “In the next few days, data of the trail will be released as evidence to bolster claims.”

However, the launch of Coronil and its promotion didn’t go down too well with the government.

Currently, no independent experts have commented on Patanjali`s claims. A few hours after the launch, the Union Ministry of Ayush asked Patanjali to provide detailed information about Coronil and studies it conducted. The ministry also said that until the details are examined by it, Patanjali should stop advertising and publicising its claims.
